Nothing has ever really stood out to me. I’ve thought about web design, but I’d most likely have to relocate. I’ve thought about law enforcement but I’m worried a lot of the things I’ve done would automatically disqualify me in that. Most recently I’ve been thinking about education. Is there a good web site that has like a career placement test that is good. What other information should I keep in mind.

I’ve already graduated high school and i am completely unsure of what i want to do. I figure a test could give me an idea of where i want to go from here.

I’m a junior in high school and i really need to start cracking down on college decisions. The problem is i don’t have a clue what i want to do or major in so i can’t really narrow down a list of colleges. So i thought i would try an aptitude test but i can’t seem to find any good, reliable, or FREE ones.
Any suggestions?

I am looking at pursuing higher education and am indecisive about which program to choose and I want to be sure before I enroll this fall. Any ideas on how I can choose what is best for me? I am looking at either paralegal studies or business administrative. I have worked at a law office, so I am pretty interested in pursuing a paralagal degree, but a degree in business admin. would give me a broader range of career options – what do you all think? Does anyone have either of these degrees and be willing to give me some info/advice? Or, does anyone now of a career-placement test I can take online to help me decide?

Every career field or job has its own challenges and it makes certain peculiar demands on the workers, testing their skills and endurance. However, a stint in the military service is probably the most challenging of all tasks. Life in the military service is not only marked by stress and trauma, but also by brief and long spells of monotony and excruciating loneliness.

This is why, when someone comes out of the military service, he looks for a career that is radically different from his earlier experience. The job of truck driving is something that requires the mettle of a long hard worker, while it offers the drivers the thrill of being on the move all the time, seeing new landscapes. It’s like a permanent vacation. Such features of this job ideally suit the adventurous spirit and experience of a military man. No wonder, in recent years more and more people have been taking up driving career after their stints in the military service.

Major trucking companies prefer to employ drivers with the background of either military service or long stints at one job. People in the military service spend long spells away from home. They get used to spending time away from their wife and kids. A truck driver’s job also involves long haul runs away from home. Naturally, anyone with a military background finds it easier to adjust to a life away from his own home. However, these days many trucking companies schedule their regional runs in such a way that most drivers are home at least one day in a week.

Potential truck drivers are increasingly lured to this career field to resolve the crisis arising out of an acute shortage of truck drivers throughout the US. Husbands and wives are invited to join as a couple teams of drivers. Similarly, after a driver completes a year with a company the latter promotes him as a mentor to other drivers. This helps the drivers to earn more money.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) suggest that a person is physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle, if he/she has no loss of a foot, leg, hand, or arm, and has no impairment of a hand or finger interfering with apprehension or power grasping. If one has no impairment of an arm, foot, or leg interfering with the ability to perform normal tasks is associated with operating a commercial motor vehicle. Or if one has none other significant limb defect or limitation interfering with the ability to perform normal tasks is also associated with operating a commercial motor vehicle.

In case a person suffers loss of a foot, leg, hand or arm or whose limb impairment in any way interferes with the safe performance of normal tasks associated with operating a commercial motor vehicle is subject to the SPE Certification Program pursuant to Section 391.49, assuming the person is otherwise qualified.

Although FMCSRs allows the use of prosthetic devices for certain categories of physical impairment, restrictions may be included on individual SPE certificates, when a State Director for the FMCSA determines, they are necessary to be consistent with safety and public interest.

A retired military person thinking of taking up the career of truck driving should check out with the concerned state government officials for other probable regulations in his/her own state.

I want to become a credit counselor and educated people and help them budget and what not to get out of debt and stay there and begin to improve their score. Companionship is very important to people who are lonely or ailing. And when there is no family or friends around, a nurse is someone you can turn to. When I was young, and was hospitalized for a month, a nurse took the place of my parents, when they were not around. She comforted me and took great care of me. They are representatives of angels, down on earth, to help the needy and comfort the ones in anguish. When you opt for career in nursing, you don’t need to remain in your hometown anymore. Look for opportunities overseas.

The world is suddenly seeing an influx of nursing vacancies. In countries like US, UK and Netherlands, and a lot of developing countries there is a shortage of nurses. The reason being that most of their youth are not choosing to follow careers in nursing and hence the dearth for nurses. They are going in for other professions instead. And the nurses that are available in the country are fast approaching retirement age and there are not many to replace them. This has suddenly opened up the international job market for nurses.

How do you go about it? First of all, ensure that you know English and also the basic language of the country, when you are applying. Make an attempt to take a short course in the local language. Also remember, that every country has its own methods of Registration. You have to pass an English test and fit other requirements. Sometimes, you need to be willing to take up additional training courses, as per the standards required by their nursing laws and regulations. What you have learnt in your country may not always be sufficient and you need some extra expertise.

When you apply overseas, also make sure that you submit the certificate of proof of your education, work experience, nursing license (if any), languages known, any special training taken, like some people nowadays do courses in physiotherapy, etc. This increases your chances of getting that golden job. At this point, also make a mention of references from any dean of a reputed hospital who knows you personally. This speaks much of you. Mention any special or challenging cases that you may have handled in the past. If you have received any letters of appreciation or citation, then make sure to mention that too. It speaks volumes for your work and will enable you to get the best nursing job in the market.

Finally, make sure that you contact a genuine nursing recruitment or agency as it is very important that you are not cheated. You can go online and try to get enough information which will throw a lot of light on issues that you need to take care of. Be wise and make proper enquiries. Prepare yourself and be patient, opportunity will come knocking at your door. Travel the seas, and take your nursing skills to other distant places. Nurses are always a blessing, wherever they go.
